Last night, Joann and I got to sit down with our extended family from the Cypher Unlimited Discord, Anthony, Al, and Dean to chat about gaming and Cypher System and Angel’s Citadel. We had a blast. I mean, we talk to these guys pretty much every day via text on Discord, but there’s a lot to be said for sitting around and actually chatting in real time. Especially with everything that’s happening in the world.
If you watched the video and wondered whether your ears were working or not, yes. Yes they were. Angel’s Citadel is going to release a full-fledged original space setting for Cypher. We released a first glimpse into some of what we have planned yesterday with the free adventure that you can find on our blog (and on DriveThruRPG in a convenient and sexy PDF format – the link is at the bottom of the blog post), The Faralon Score. Our first major project is a Starter Kit that will introduce a GM to the setting and allow players to build Tier 1 characters in 5 different species. The Starter Kit, when you add it to the Revised Cypher System Rulebook, will be everything you need to create a character for this setting. But this is only going to be the beginning.
We’ve got so much more planned for you, both with regards to this setting and other things small and big. We’re so grateful to each of you that’s come along for the ride. You are what makes Angel’s Citadel, and this hobby great. You, and the community you build at your tables, in friendly local gaming stores, at conventions (whenever we get to go back to them), and even online help to make it so that people want to come play with all of us and that we get to dream together.
